Is this too ambitious for a Pride and Prejudice trip?

It sounds like hours and hours of driving in summer traffic for a quick look around in each place, not much allowance for meals or shopping. I would go to the north or to the south, not both in a week. If you do the north consider flying in to Manchester rather than London if that's possible.

Chatsworth would definitely be a day on its own (interior, lunch then grounds) and if you like the scenery the peak district has some beautiful walks and villages nearby. you could drive to chatsworth but you’d need to allow half a day to get there imo - if you’re keen i’d plan to stay overnight nearby for 2 nights.

Thanks. My daughter is 22 so she would be fine with the train. The driving was a concern since I wasn't sure of how much traffic there would be. Also read that fuel is higher than what I'm used to which also was a consideration. I planned to spend the night at each location. Thanks for the heads up I know how to drive a manual not preferred but know how.

I live in Salisbury and depending on what you’re wanting to see, I’d definitely recommend a full day. There’s the cathedral itself plus several museums and exhibition homes such as Arundels (perfect for your Pride and Prejudice tour) within the cathedral close.
