How to introduce mental health struggles in characters?

So, in my novel, my protagonist struggles a lot with his mental health. He can't stand being touched, has severe depression, OCD tendencies, anxiety, and struggles with a few different unhealthy coping mechanisms. However, he tries so hard to have this perfect image, to not show any cracks to the outside world. Basically he tries to be a golden boy. In the first few chapters I want just hints of his struggles (glimpses into his need for control and routine, small mentions of issues), then I want it to gradually get worse and worse. The extent of his struggles are going to be mentioned/shown around Chapter 10, but I want it to be subtle for the first few chapters. I just don't know how to execute this. Does anyone have any tips?
