When to start looking for apartments? How bad is the market?

Need a good time line to start looking - Native staten islander who moved to Hoboken back in 2022 for work. Job changed and I can’t justify hoboken prices anymore. My lease ends April of 2025. Looking for a 2 bedroom, price ranges from 1900-2500 max. My credit is well in the 700s (as is my roommates), we have no pets, and are looking around in any neighborhood New Springville and North Shore related. I remember having to stalk trulia for my current place in Hoboken, I’m hoping it’s not the same on the island, but guidance on the matter would be great. (moving companies/realtor recs are more than welcome!!!) thank you!
