Can someone explain why?

So I work in NYC midtown, but I live on Long Island. the price jump just confuses me… like how is the Flat white a whole $1.30 more but the Cortado isn’t? Also it sucks because I just want a simple espresso drink but it costs $7.00 unless I just get a double shot 😭 I need to look at other places but a cup of emergency coffee is still $5+.

Also before anyone tells me to make coffee at home. I have coffee at work but sometimes I just want the jolt of an espresso 🥺
