Which SUV for a trip in west america

Hi, I am going for a month in California and Nevada and I’m looking for the most suitable SUV for our trip (2 people).

The journey begins in San Francisco and ends in LA passing through Vegas and the main national parks along the way. Most recommended cars by rental companies are Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue and Pathfinder, Chevrolet Equinox and Ford Edge.

We need something comfy for the road, with space in the trunk for luggages and the adapted to main routes in national park.

The RAV4 seems too compact, what do you think of the other suggestions ?
