Girl with the Needle
I just watched The Girl With the Needle and I'm surprised with how good it is?! Such an unnerving psychological thriller/horror. The film is in black-and-white with some absolutely STUNNING shots. The acting was good, especially the actress playing Dagmar, and I loved the score. I know a lot of people were expecting Vermiglio or Kneecap to make it over this, but I think it's a worthy nominee (haven't seen Vermiglio though it's on my list).
I'm kind of shocked this didn't pick up a cinematography nom. I enjoyed Nosferatu and The Substance, but this is the superior horror film for me this season. I've now seen all the international noms and this is my ranking:

- The Girl with the Needle
- The Seed of the Sacred Fig/Flow
- Emilia Perez
Though my favorite international film is still AWIAL, RIP
Just wanted to talk about this since it seems a bit underrated! (Also depressing that imo all the other films in international are significantly better but there's a 99% chance EP will win)
