Sojo Spa

I went to Sojo yesterday after months of considering going. Entry has gone up from last month. I elected to go for a 9am entry on a weekday hoping to avoid large crowds. I had the hydrotherapy pool and infinity pool fairly empty from 9-11am. The saunas weren’t overly crowded in the morning and had the ice room to myself at some times as well. I was afraid the floors would have that gross wet dirty water park feeling since bare feet are required but I was pleased to find everything very clean. I loved the hinoki bath, hydrotherapy pool and the gaban’yoku sauna room. Later in the afternoon, the crowds were a bit louder and I found it harder to relax depending on the pool. There are some designated quiet areas. Would recommend bringing your own water bottle as it can be easy to mix up your Fiji bottle and someone else’s outside the saunas and you definitely want water throughout the day. Food wasn’t bad - I had the vegan spicy tofu bowl, large quantity! The smoothie was meh but the blue spirulina lemonade bottled juice was great. Nice mix of all ages and body types, I never felt uncomfortable throughout the day. Next time I go, I think I’ll add a Korean scrub and possibly bring a friend. If you’re on the fence and need a day of relaxation I’d definitely recommend but go early and on a weekday unless you like louder crowds.
