Physician impersonators on social media

Anyone else notice the biggest red flag of a physician impersonator is that they dont disclose their degree, but instead call themselves “Dr Smith”? These type of influencers are most certainly NPs, nutritionists, acupuncturists, or other pseudoscience influencers.

I wondered down a few influencer pages mostly posting about fruits/veggies or skin care and it’s alarming how many of them call themselves “Dr” while not being a physician.

What I’ve seen is that actual physicians will tend to use “John Smith, MD” so be please be super cognizant of that and dont consume misinformation from pseudoscience quacks

I really hope we get some federal legislation soon its been out of control for way too long and opportunists and quacks are profiting off unsuspecting people and spreading pseudoscience. Its not okay
