Tips and tricks to play better Magneto

I have been playing a lot of magneto. I have watched videos and try to better my gameplay but I feel like around Plat i have hit a ceiling and I have been getting bullied a few good wolverines as well. Any tips and tricks to get better as i feel i can improve a lot and secondly how to counter annoying wolverines.
