Anyone Searching for a Dog to Adopt?
I know this is probably a long shot but here goes. My neighbors are two young Latino guys who speak no English. About 1.5 years ago they got a Lab/Pyrenees mix puppy and she has sat outside in their unfenced yard 24/7 since. She roams the street and everyone else's yard. It is a miracle she has not been hit by a car. She had puppies about 9 weeks ago and it's the same for them as well. Finally I had enough and tried speaking to them despite my extremely poor Spanish. The guy said he doesn't want any of them anymore and to take them away. So the other neighbor and I have been working on finding good homes for the puppies. Which leaves the original dog who is a very young adult, and the potential for this whole situation to continue. Now I have found a rescue that will spay her, and I am willing to let her heal inside my home for a week after her surgery, but cannot under any circumstances keep her. I have four pets already. Is there anyone out there who would like to have her? She is white and medium sized, and young, under 2 years old. She will also be spayed. I am in the panhandle of Florida, close to Alabama state line. I moved here from a much more affluent area and it has been a real culture shock to see the way they neglect and mistreat animals in this area. The amount of strays is so bad that not one shelter or organization I have called for 150 mile radius can accept a single one of these dogs. I've called well over 10 places. Not even the humane society would help this dog find a home. I'm just stuck at a brick wall with this and it is breaking my heart.
