Almost one year, what are your thoughts now?
We're approaching the one-year mark since Niji decided to take a cannon and shoot their own ship. It still amazes me the string of actions the company itself took that led them to this moment. But I want to ask all of you, what do you think of Nijisanji now? From its members, to its management, to the company as a whole? Did you change your feelings on any members that you once deemed irredeemable?
I'll start, I guess I'm mostly indifferent to Nijisanji's antics now. I'll still tune in whenever a bombshell drops about another one of Niji's misdeeds, but ever since the AR Live they haven't been noticeable at all. The people that I'm interested in have all left the company and back to their old channels, so I have no need to care about the company. Their popularity has dropped off the face of the earth, and the only time they pop up on my timeline is when they collab with Hololive. I'd say that the turn to infamy of NijiEN was good enough to satisfy me.
There were a lot of livers that people targeted at the start of Niji's downfall. Most prominently were the black stream trio for me. Elira definitely got way too much flak for what she did. Yes it's still scummy to take part in and put the stream on your channel, and possibly dragging two other members with you, but honestly she got so much vitriol that was not evenly spread to the other duo of the black stream. It's a miracle that she still hasn't graduated till this day (then again, it might not be her choice). Vox and Ike got off way too easily, especially Vox. Ike went back to streaming basically a few days after and had almost no hate thrown at him, while Vox took a longer "vacation" but still came back almost unscathed. I still dislike Vox for how much snark he had when trying to slander Selen, as if it was some irrefutable evidence that he's right and she's wrong.
In the end, I guess pity is the best way I'd describe all the talents within Nijisanji. They're basically wearing a badge that says "We're the company whom each talent who left it only spoke neutral or bad things about", and that basically denies everyone inside the chance to grow. As for Nijisanji, I don't fully want their downfall. If they can somehow make an ex-talent speak positively about them, that'd be great. But as of right now, I'll crack a smile if Niji's popularity continue to plummet, which by the looks of things, it's inevitable.
