Best sleep aid that’s non-pharmaceutical?
Backstory…I’ve had insomnia since I was 12 years old and I’m now 39. I’ve taken all kinds of pharma—gabapentin, topiramate, ambien, klonopin. Moved away and tried a sleep stack—magnesium threonate, Apigenin…I take Rejuvia which helps me to fall asleep not stay asleep. And unless I combine it with some form of doxylamine, I can’t stay asleep. And I know doxy can have bad long term effects. I have a job where I have to get up early so I need to get to bed early and nothing else gets me sleepy enough in time. I have tried the CBD route, tried eliminating all caffeine for 30 days, red lights at night, bright lights in the morning and NSDR, white noise and sleep stories. Not eating late, not exercising late. No snoring, no sleep apnea. Nothing really has helped in the long term. Anything tried and true that has worked for anyone who has tried so much? I would love any and all advice!
