I'm looking to move to Germany from the states. Help?
I lived in Germany for about 2 years a few years back, I have a current American passport, American drivers license, and German drivers license. I can speak good not perfect German and really want to go back. I want to live there like a normal person- working, commuting, and living with natives.
It's kind of daunting looking into moving abroad. I did it through a program last time and they took care of all of the logistics.
Where do I even begin? I know I would need a work visa, but where would I even go to see about getting one? How hard is it to get one? How is employment there? I'm 22 with retail and customer service experience, what might I be able to expect work wise? My dream would be to work with native speakers in some way. Something that would have me speaking German.
Also, how would I go about finding someplace to live? I would love to rent out a room from some natives as I feel that would be great for my language skills. Anywhere you know of online that I might meet people interested in that sort of arrangement?
Mostly I just don't know where to begin with the logistics of it all. Any help is appreciated!
