Need a Reality Check

Hi All, Currently torn - I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this question… but would just appreciate your answers and full honesty.

UK Citizen currently on STEM OPT - ends July 2026. Working for a company that won’t sponsor me afterwards. I have Bachelors in Math, Resume is weak but working on professional development in current role and projects to pad it out!

College was paid off thankfully to good scholarships and financial situation.

After reading all the h1b horror stories I’m feeling unmotivated about what is in store for me after my STEM OPT Period. Do I go to grad school - try another OPT/STEM OPT and work for a company willing to sponsor me? Do I apply for a billion jobs? Or do I just go back home?

Again, I’m pretty sure I know the answer… Just sucks that I was so hellbent on living here and making a life out here.
