Why.

Solo playing on Console Official EU, trying to live a peaceful life up West of Sinystok, South West from Tisy, lovely house with three greenhouses and a garage with a pond nearby, perfect, I just want to fish, hunt and garden as I feel like these parts of the game are easily missed in the rush of survival and PVP battles.

It’s my second attempt on this server in the same area, first time it was a solo who killed me, first clip, took a shot at me just as I got all the materials needed to build the gate, after a long wait in the base I popped out and did a scout and spotted his backpack, I was a millisecond away from pulling the trigger before my screen went dark. Took me a solid day of gaming to get back to the base to find everything destroyed but the gate, disheartened I continued to peruse my dream.

In the second clip I was looting Sinystok and heard a car drive past, I chased it up as I knew the only thing up the road was my base, I stalked around the tree line and knew the car wouldn’t be far away as there isn’t much to loot in the area, expecting one maybe two players…but no…dayz greets me with 3 players fully geared, blood thirsty creatures, I didn’t know what to do, if I take the shot they’ll be alerted to my position, if I don’t they could kill me, if I kill them I’ll have a working car, I should use my grenade and hope for the best, so many thoughts going through my head, when they took that first shot after spotting me I said while cowering behind the tree “IM JUST A SOLO TRYING TO LIVE A PEACEFUL LIFE! I HAVE NOTHING OF ANY VALUE! IM FRIENDLY!” To which they responded with a lead piercing through my cranium.

It’s true I had nothing of value, an SSG with two mags, a pump shotgun with some pare ammo, and an engraved Kolt pistol, I had NVGS but no strap, and some cooking pots full of chicken steaks, that’s my highest tier loot the rest was just repair kits and building materials not even enough to complete the base gate…always missing pliers or nails.

How can I build a base quickly and securely? After getting killed the first time I ran back almost in a straight line collecting minimal loot along the way to survive, hoping my stuff would be there, is there another location that’s a little bit less prone to traffic? I thought it would be rather secluded but I guess I was wrong, I only have roughly 350 hours on console playing a mix of community and official but properly trying official recently.

I’m going to try a third and final time on this server, third time lucky, if a similar thing happens and I’m unable to build one bloody gate to keep the hooligans out from my poor man’s comfy loot I think I’m going to give dayz a break for a bit as it’s driving me insane.

P.S Why can’t I find pliers anywhere on official ffs.
