I like clinical research, but HATE being a CRC. Advice for a looking for an alternative job?
Hi, so as the title states, I’ve been a CRC for only 8 months and I hate it. What I dislike the most is having to deal with patients. I hate playing phone tag with them and having to act like a used cars salesman to enroll them in studies. It saps my energy and the PI I work with is rarely available, which causes poor work flow.
I had taken the job because I was hopeful of transitioning into a career in pharma. Prior to this I finished a PhD in public health. So I already have a lot of research experience, but not clinical research.
I also had similar issues with the PhD, in that I disliked having to recruit and deal with participants. What I do like is writing the manuscripts for publication.
I’ve tried looking for jobs as a medical writer, because I think I could see myself doing that. But all of them require experience. Are there any entry level writing positions? Or what would you guys suggest as alternative jobs?
