Sigma EF USB dock with a Tamron lens?

I just purchased a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 G2 to use with my EOS R8 and wanted to confirm whether it is on the newest firmware or not. Would I be able to use my Sigma USB dock from my EF art lenses to update it or do I need to purchase the Tamron dock? Thank you!
