How have you gotten back in the dating scene after an abusive relationship?

Hello friends, I am about 6 months out from being out of my abusive relationship with my boyfriend of 5 years. We had a bit of an off and on relationship in the end and I realized when dating people in between those periods that I would end up truama dumping. I am going to refrain from dating for now I’m 21F btw. I’m just wondering how long did it take you to get back out there? How did you make your next relationship healthy and successful? Thank you <3
