CS “someone already dropped it off”

He says “someone already dropped it off. She just left”.

I say “ok I’ll take it back.”

Customer says “No! I wished I had ordered more soup anyway.”

I’m not gonna argue with the guy. I scanned his ID for the cough syrup and left.

But what am I supposed to do in that situation? No way I’m arguing with the guy. I don’t really want to go back to the store either. Obviously there’s no point in speaking with support. Do they pay more to return it to the store? Their system just wasted $42. I guess the guy figured that was worth $5 cause he tipped me. It was bundled so maybe the old lady I went to first will throw me a fiver. ( She actually sent $10!)

What would you do? It’s fraud on his part for accepting it right? Or no?
