Accidentally left doggy bag of poop in client's home

Hello! Today I completed a dog walking request for a client that booked me for the last two days in the morning. Overall, the client has seemed incredibly polite and things went well. On our walk this morning, the dog went poop and I picked it up with the doggy bag. Unfortunately, on my walk back, I was unable to find a trash can to throw it out. I brought it inside of his apartment and left it on a table while I took off the dog's coat, leash, etc. I gathered my things and keys and gave the dog some love and pets before I left, unfortunately completely forgetting the bag of poop on the table. A few hours later, the client texts me and says I left a bag of poop and verbatim says "It's not funny." I responded about 20 minutes later because I was at work profusely apologizing for my mistake and ensuring him that it was not something I did intentionally. I completely understand that I am at fault and truly do feel guilty. I refunded him for the walk and let him know, once again, I was very sorry. He has not responded at all to this refund nor my apology, and it has been 4 hours. I am not sure what to do in this situation and I fear I will be getting my first bad Rover review. Is there anything else I should really do in this situation?

Edit: Wow, I did not expect this post to have so many interactions lol...

Anyways, I just wanted to let the record reflect that I did NOT leave the baggy of dog poop on a kitchen counter or table. It was a small end table in the entryway of his apartment that had a lamp on it. In fact, it was nowhere near the client's kitchen, so I really do want to emphasize that it was not in a place where the client would eat. I placed it down there as I was getting the dog's coat and leash off. While I certainly will not make this mistake again and understand why others would be concerned for sanitary purposes, I do not appreciate many of the presumptuous comments made by some of the people here. It really was a honest mistake and a lapse in judgment. This was a morning walk when it was 23 degrees out and I was not really thinking straight, especially as I was freezing and mostly concerned about warming up the moment I got into the apartment. I also do suffer from ADHD and brain fog as a result of long COVID, so it is unfortunate that I do have forgetful tendencies. However, I definitely took this situation seriously and know now to triple check my surroundings before I leave a client's home! In the future, I will be sure to not bring bags of dog poop into any client's home.

I honestly cannot think of any other time I have brought baggies of dog poop into a house, as I live in one of the biggest cities in America and there is usually somewhere I can dispose of it rather quickly. As well, if I had remembered to grab the bag of poop, I 100% would have disinfected the table.

As for an update regarding the client, he did accept the refund at about 3 in the morning, but did not respond at all. The only communication I received from him was the "It's not funny" comment after informing me of my mistake. I left one last apology this morning and wished him a happy holiday season. At this current time, I am not seeing any reviews on my Rover profile at all, but I am not sure what the window is for a review and it is possible he will still leave one at some point.
