Consequences of stealing online orders on the shelf?

I always go to Panera and Buffalo Wild Wings and Chipotle and see all the food there and I wonder what stops people from just walking up and taking all of those online orders?

Do people do it all the time and not get caught?

Do employees care?

Do they ever call the cops?

I don’t have it in me to do it, but I’m just curious on employees thoughts, or even people who take it themselves. Please elaborate, cheers!
