I’m pleasantly surprised there’s no WW1/WW2-centric nominations this year

It seems like we’ve been inundated with those types of movies for the past few seasons. While beautifully shot, I don’t think they had anything new to say (All Quiet on the Western Front, 1917, Dunkirk, Darkest Hour). Other than Zone of Interest, they all seemed to revolve around the standard “war is hell” thesis, which is like yeah duh.

I’m probably super biased bc I never liked war movies lol
