No, Agalea isn't an idiot, just overly cautious.

(Spoilers for 3.0 if it wasn't obvious.)

HSR fans have two main and valid critique for HSR writing-

  1. Don't spoonfeed us, we can read between the lines and understand a character's actions without a 5 minute monologue.

  2. Give us some complex characters, both morally and writing wise( granted this isn't as major or popular critique as the first critique).

Despite these two things in demand, a good portion of people here think that Agalea's hostility towards us is stupid. Fair reminder, you can dislike her, go ahead, but her actions towards us aren't as unreasonable or realm of possibility as some of y'all make it out to be.

"We literally helped Okhema by killing the monsters when they attacked the city, she has no reason to be suspicious of us!"

Putting aside the fact that the invasion was expected by Agalea(implied by no presence of guards at the gates, as she wanted them to attack and retreat so Tribbie could follow them back to Nikador to find where he is), it's not like we did God's work, the Heirs could've easily gotten rid of the monsters. As Mydei was capable of keeping the real Nikador back, the fake Nikador would've been killed by him easily.

I'm getting sidetracked, my point is that in her POV, we're aliens who dropped out of the sky. She has no knowledge of who and what we are and can do, what our motives are- we may aswell be space colonisers. This is why in the interrogation she asks what our true motives and reasons for coming to Amphoreus are, she clearly thinks we have other intentions than being well intentioned explorers.

As for why she's so cautious- just look at the Council of Elders-her own people- they trail and spy on her and are more than willing to get rid of her if she outlives her usefulness. Anybody would become cautious after spending years among them.

"She threatens to kill us and still expects our help?"

Except that she doesn't?

"Whether you stay or go after this, it's for you to decide." AND "Regardless of your choice, the Chrysos' Heirs will continue to follow the path on the prophecy." -Agalea, after interrogation.

It's Phainon, who's fought alongside us earlier, who wishes us to stay. The Chrysos' Heirs have gotten six coreflames already, it's reasonable from her POV to not desperately want our help. We aren't some last hope. She does later go on to say that ever bit of help helps their crisis. But no leader will frivously apologise on it, especially if the secondary goal of the interrogation was that if we aren't threats, and also decide to help Amphoreus after, we have a stronger born with Phainon and Castorice.

"Hoyo never lets us speak negatively or have choices against Agalea. We're all supposed to let brush off and never talk about it again."

Did y'all miss the part where Dan Heng, right after the interrogation, strongly takes offence to what Agalea just did?

And if you're talking about dialogue choices for MC(which I believe most of you are), we do get one-

Agalea: It is by the will of god's you stood by Okhema in the end.

MC option: No thanks to you.

And if you're saying we should've had more- IIRC we barely interact with Agalea after her interrogation, and the one time we do, the above choice for dialogue comes. I'm sure we'll get choices for it splintered throughout the coming quests. I think they do that type of thing with Sampo and some other characters.

On an unrelated side note- I don't think I, as a primarily husbando player, would write ever write a defense post for a waifu, like ever. But ig I like nation leader character archtypes.
