Best Gateway into the World of Griselda?
I was listening to Burden of Proof for the first time in a while earlier tonight and I was thinking how it was my first, proper introduction to a Griselda album. I had heard Benny, WSG and Conway on Royce’s album The Allegory but never dug any deeper into their discographies. A couple years later, I heard Timeless with Big Sean and Lil Wayne and figured I’d give the whole album a spin. From there, I went down the Griselda rabbit hole pretty deep.
In your opinion, what’s the best first album to get into Griselda? I think the more mainstream sound of Burden of Proof and God Don’t Make Mistakes make the transition into their sound a bit more palatable than diving headfirst into some of the more intensely-Griselda releases (say something like the early Hitler tapes). What do you guys think is the best gateway for someone who is completely unfamiliar with the Griselda sound?
I’m interested to hear your guys’ thoughts.
