Help choosing Team

Hello fellow Travelers!

I made a new account to share with my son(7 yr old). He loves the open world concept and fighting monsters and all the elemental powers. As we reach AR 40, I’m understanding that there are not enough resources to level up everyone so I’d like to narrow down the characters that I’ll use in Team A and Team B for abyss clearings and also maybe a world exploration team that would make things easier as I farm for resources. He usually likes to explore, daily quests, and archon quests, while I slave away at ore mining, world quests, and oculus hunting.

I’ve got a screenshot of the characters we have but unfortunately it cut off Barbara and Diona at the bottom. As far as constellations, most of them are c0 with the exception of Geo Traveler c5, Chevreuse c4, Sucrose c1, and Kachina c1.

I’ve been running Beidou and Fischl mostly but he likes to switch it up so I’m just trying to see which 8 characters to focus on to make stronger that he could cycle through and I could use as team comps for the abyss and boss fights.

I don’t know anything about pity or the pulling strategies, I just try and gather primogems through quests, achievements, and challenges until I reach 1600 and then he likes to hit the x10 wish on the current character banner while we watch and see what color the star turns as it shoots down. The latest one we unlocked was Jean and he went crazy when the star turned gold and told me to level her up because she looked cool lol
