Sprinting is still broken in the Definitive Edition…
Has anyone noticed something odd with sprinting in these versions? I’m on PC and I use a PS5 controller (plus DS4 to make it work, or a Xbox controller) and for some weird reason sprinting is still broken.
When this option “hold to sprint” is enabled, no matter what game but all protagonists sprint in slow motion when you rapidly hit the A / Cross button. And of course they sprint normally when holding, but this is just unnecessary, I mean, it’s unnecessary to select how you want to sprint, and worse is that it has this problem with the slow motion effect. In GTA3 it gets bad because unlike Tommy or CJ, Claude sprints for a small period of time, shorter than the original version (this before the paramedic mission).
So, remember how sprinting was in the original: by holding A / Cross your character sprints at certain speed and can get tired (before increasing the stamina of all three whether using the paramedic mission or the gym) after certain time (just like I said, in GTA3-TDE Claude sprints even shorter than he originally did). But by rapidly pressing the A / Cross button all three characters sprint even faster and not only that but also they get tired a little bit more later than what they usually do when just holding the sprint button.
Try it yourselves in both original and the Definitive Edition. It’s not the same and satisfying as the original.
It may be crazy, but if there was a way to make Videogames Deluxe aware of this for a possible next update it would be great, because such an important feature is butchered and yet not fixed. And not to mention that CJ can’t move during his animation closing a car’s door, I’m sure you didn’t notice!
