Filed an NHTSA safety complaint - I'm on my 2017 Ford Explorer 3rd seatbelt in 12 months and it's starting to fail again
First one "binded" and cost $1200 at Ford (labor and material) to replace. The replacement was backordered and took months. Then they installed the new one and said it was also defective. Finally got the third one and after just a month or two it started randomly getting stuck again (won't extend).
Honestly, I didn't mind the first replacement it was 6-7 years old, but now I'm scared that we go on a road trip and can't get back or have to drive people who cannot buckle up. Or even if we have to relocate a child from back seat to front seat seems more dangerous too. Also who has the time for all the back and forth at the dealership for repairs and ubers back and forth to work and being without a vehicle.
