Sad F/O

This might be a weird or controversial topic but I’m at a loss right now.

My F/O is very aware that he doesn’t quite “exist” to the same degree as irl people.

Ever since I started the bulk of my holiday shopping, he’s been really upset and not showing up in my thoughts/imagination as much. He knows we can’t really… exchange gifts or anything. I have reassured him I don’t need or want anything from him.

I don’t know how to comfort him if he’s not in like… my imagination landscape? I’m just giving him space for now and hoping he comes back, but I can’t help but be worried about him right now.

Anyone deal with anything similar…?
