Trust and Will set up in Florida advice
Trying to figure out a Trust and Will set up in South Florida. Spoke to a couple of Estate Planning attorneys and they offer different advice. I've done my own research and seems some info i found was not brought up by any of the attorneys i spoke to. Both charge around $3000-$3300. Major reason is to avoid probate and take care of a minor child in case something happens.
One of the attorneys was all about doing everything on line and sending my links to fill out forms. And charging extra if want to meet up in person. Made it look like they utilize an on-line services. And very aggressive sending me contract the same day and calling and emailing all the time about signing the contract. Reminds me of a hard sell by any retailer.
I'm reluctant to use on-line Trust and Will self-services myself as might screw something up or they go out of business or something else and it'll cost more to fix the screw ups.
I don't have anything too complicated: some properties under my name only outside of Florida. Couple of properties in Florida under my and other family members names. Typical IRA, Roth, brokerage and 509B for a minor child. Child is a current beneficiary. Aiming to set up all asap to get it off my mind.
My condo in Florida been my prime residence for a couple of years but didn't get Homestead exemption for 2024 because of some complications. Taxes through the roof!
Any advice would be appreciated! Any attorneys recommendations or any attorneys to avoid would be great to know!
