Question regarding the Drifter

Can this guy actuly use the light? Dureing that mission I expected him to wip out some kind of super when it all went down only for him to just not do that or anything, then it hit me have we seen him use any kind of light or darkness ability ? I know he's not exactly on speaking terms with his ghost but dose that mean he can't?
