How close is Cornell to NYC?

I’m applying to Cornell this fall and I heard it’s pretty close. I don’t know how to look things up on my own and don’t understand distance or time. As a future engineer of America, I haven’t touched grass yet so how far is the Slope, for example, from Times Square? Is it walkable? What subway stations operate at Cornell if it isn’t?
