How do you guys decide what altcoin to buy?

Seems like every other day there's a new influencer affiliated crypto rug pull and when I'm trying to find new legitimate projects they're all basically doing the same thing with little derivation. What factors are you considering when looking to buy a new crypto? Someone unironically tried to shill me stinkcoin and I'm so tired of how untrustworthy this space is.
