Looking for a family car for ~£30k

I need a family car for weekend and holiday travel. Originally I was looking at Volvo XC40, but many reviews online say it lacks space both in boot and at the back (if using child seats). What are my other options? Currently checking Audi Q3 and Mazda CX-5. TIA
