How involved is it to replace knob and tube?
I had some water damage recently and have a big hole in my kitchen right now. Visible from the hole is two active knob and tube wires that run to my dining room and living room. I'm thinking about getting an electrician to give me an estimate to replace it with new wiring but was unsure how the process works
Would an electrician have to open a hole everywhere that a switch and outlet exists? And how would someone fish the new wire through? Is it something where an electrician can open a hole on the other end and then pull the new wire through by using the old wire as a fish?
I figured I should update my wiring while my wall is open but I'm scared that it'll be really involved since my living room and dining room have plaster walls and I don't really want a bunch of drywall patches anywhere
