Key Notes
-Amtrak's ridership gain was the largest its had since May.
-Both the state-supported and long-distance sectors are now at 95% of 2019 ridership levels. The NEC is at 115% of 2019 levels.
-The NEC gained 187K riders, state-supported routes gained 133K, and long-distance routes gained 37K.
-38 routes gained riders, while just 7 lost riders.
-The Empire South corridor (NYC-Albany) posted a profit again, now at $25.3 million in fare revenue vs $22.8 million in expenses. Even once you add the Maple Leaf/Empire West section in, the entire Empire Corridor is very close to breaking even ($31.0M vs $33.2M).
-State support payments are currently down by $15.7 million through the first 3 months of FY25.
