Can we please stop giving people crap for complaining about not losing weight?
Honestly, I've had this nonsense aimed at me and I know others have dealt with it as well. Nobody here believes they are the exception to physics, thermodynamics, science, medicine, biology or logic when they gripe about struggling to lose weight.
Weight loss is frustrating, infuriating, depressing, discouraging and annoying. People lose weight at different rates - we don't all drop the expected 1-2 pounds per week following the rule book. Some people take medications or have medical issues that can slow or interfere with weight loss efforts. Some people are still learning how to do things like keep a proper food journal. Some people might be recovering from eating disorders.
And if none of those apply, sometimes you just want to scream into the void when you feel like you're doing everything right and it's either taking forever or appears to not be having the intended effect.
We don't need the people who I'm sure have doctorates in nutrition telling us we're just lying about calorie tracking, don't know how to count, are delusional, or that we must think we're medical and scientific miracles. Like did you ever see the episode of Parks & Recreation where Ann is complaining about being pregnant and Chris is coming up with all these fixes for her complaints instead of just letting her get it out of her system without unsolicited advice? It's kinda like that. Sometimes people just want solidarity, or encouragement.
Sometimes people don't want advice here - that's what r/WeightLossAdvice is for. Just let people rant and rave about their failures and frustrations without a chorus of hurr durr u r not excepshun 2 fissicks fatty!
Weight loss is not easy and it's not fun. I mean the freaking sub description says right over on the right: This is for anyone who hates their diet but is still committed and just needs a place to vent.
